Form Settings
Clicking on the form name in the form preview on the right side of the page, or clicking the “Form Properties” tab located in the top left, will bring you to the Form Properties control panel. From here, you can control the properties of the selected form. A selected form will be highlighted in yellow, and will have a combination of the properties listed below:
Form Name. The first piece of text displayed to the user when they see your form. The form name is also used to create the URL that indicates where the form is located on the web.
Description. Use this property to display a short description or any instructions, notes, or guidelines that your user should read when filling out the form. This will appear directly below the form name.
Language. When there are system messages (such as submission errors) you can choose what language they appear in. If your language is not on the list of translations, we would love any translation contributions using the submission format.
Label Placement. How do you want the questions to appear? They can float to the left or hover above the form questions.
Show Text Confirmation. After your users have successfully submitted an entry, they will be sent to Wufoo’s Confirmation Page, which will display the text you have specified here.
Redirect URL. After your users have successfully submitted an entry, you can redirect them to another website. This will bypass the default Wufoo Confirmation Page, and send them directly to a URL of your choice. A paid Wufoo subscription is required to use this feature.
Send Confirmation Email To User. If you would like a receipt message sent to the person who fills out the form, select this option. You can customize the message, and specify if a copy of the submission should be included.
Captcha. A test used to make sure entries are coming from a human, and not an automated bot or script. By default, this is set to Auto, which tries to automatically detect abusive behavior and only show a captcha test in those situations. This allows your form to be protected without severely affecting the conversion rate on a form. You can also set the captcha to always show on your form, or tell Wufoo to never show the captcha, which is useful if many submissions are coming from the same network.
Turn Form Off After. Allows you to have a form become inactive after a certain amount of entries. For example, great for signup forms that may have 100 tickets to an event, and don’t want people in excess of 100 to fill out and pay on the form. Using that example, the limit would be set to 100 Entries.
Allow only One Entry Per IP. This is used to prevent users from filling out your form more than once. Wufoo uses the computer’s IP address to detect multiple submissions. Note : If the same user were to access your form on another computer with a different internet connection, they could fill out the form again.
Schedule Form Activity. Allows you to set your form to automatically become active or inactive at a certain date and time. Note that this is based off of the time zone for the account creator, which can be set on the Users tab.
