FAQs
Introduction
The Report Manager works similar to the Form Manager, but, as you may have guessed, it manages Reports instead of Forms. The layout is identical, and most of the functionality works the same as well. You can access the Report Manager by clicking the Reports tab.
Creating a New Report
First things first. In order to create a report, you must have an existing form. Once you have a form, you can begin creating reports by clicking the “New Report” button in the top right.
Report Listings
All reports are listed on this page, and clicking on a report name will take you to that report. As you hover the mouse over each report, you will also see “+” and “-” icons appear over to the right. Click on these to duplicate and delete reports, respectively.
Primary Actions of a Report
Each report that you create allows for multiple primary actions. These actions are found directly underneath the name of the report.
View. Take a look at the report.
Edit. The same as creating a new report except that you will be editing the properties of the selected report.
Export. Allows you to export the report to Excel or CSV format. The Excel format is XML based, and is not supported by all versions of Excel. If your version does not support XML, you may import using the CSV option. Currently, Excel imports of CSV files do not support foreign characters; however, foreign characters should be preserved in the XML format, or when opening CSV in other programs, such as Google spreadsheet.
Protect. If your report is public, you may set a password to protect it. In order to view the report, public users will be prompted to enter the password.
Publishing a Report
Along with the primary actions of the report, there is also a checkbox off to the right labeled “Public”. By checking this box, you have now published your report. A published report means that the form is viewable by anyone who browses to the report URL.
How do I export my data?
There are two ways to export your data from a report - either inside of Wufoo or on the actual report itself.
Inside of Wufoo If you’re logged into Wufoo and head to the report manager, you’ll see an export icon beneath the name of each report. Clicking on that icon will bring up a lightbox where you can either download a report in excel or .csv format.
On the report When you view a report, you’ll see two icons at the top right-hand side of the report. Clicking on the excel icon will download the report as an excel file and the .csv icon will download a .csv file.
** Note that you can also export your data from the Entry Manager.
Why are all data columns exported?
Even though data may not be showing directly on the report’s datagrid, if you have included a field to be part of a report, it will be exported. This can happen if you choose to show 15 fields, but you are hiding 10 of the fields when viewing the report in order to make the report easier on the eyes. If you do not want data to be exported, you will need to edit your report and remove the checkbox for any field that shouldn’t be seen or exported.
Can I print a report or the report’s graphs?
We’re sorry, but due to the technologies Wufoo uses to render reports, the datagrid will not print in full and the graphs are not printable. You will need to export your data or take a screenshot to capture a report.
How do I style my report?
When you’re in the report manager, just select a theme in the drop down box to the right of your report name. This box is populated with any custom themes that you have created in the Theme Designer.
Is there a way to perform calculations on a report?
We’re sorry, but Wufoo’s reports are fairly linear and you will need to export the data into excel in order to perform calculations.
