API: Submitting Wufoo data to another payment gateway

Hey Sam, this is a bit outside of the scope of the hosted form submit process. If you wanted to use our API, you could set up a form on your site, submit the data to us, then submit the data to your credit card processor. The data would not go from us to them -- instead it would go from you to us for storage, and then from you to them for processing.

It would be quite a bit of custom code on your end. It is technically possible though, so if you want to play around please feel free to ask about any question you run into.

G'day guys. I'm keen to use something like Wufoo to set up an online registration system for a conference we're running. We already have a payment gateway set up with DirectOne (http://www.directone.com.au/). Is it possible to somehow send info from Wufoo onto them for credit card processing? It would require submitting a form to them with the correct field names according to their API.

Thanks!

Sam Rae

So while I was able to configure the Query API just fine, I am having no such luck with the Report API. Let me just make sure I have this straight:

• From a fully functioning Query API, I have just changed my 'form-url' to my 'report-url' and the POST parameters from '../api/query/' to '../api/report/'.
• My API key is the same key for the form that my report is linked to.
• My Report url is the full url of my report?, i.e. "http://something.wufoo.com/reports/report-name/". (I have a feeling this is the problem, but I have tried all variations of the url with no luck.)

Must I modify the file structure at all (i.e. change from "../query/query-process.php" to "../report/report-process.php") or anything, or is it all in the parameters?

Thanks in advance for your help. I am totally stumped here.

hello...

wow! fast reply. glad it's somewhere on the to do list. i am not very web code saavy, but i took a look at the links provided, and i think i can actually figure them out enough to use them! will experiment. the html code looks like it might cover what i need. my css skills are.... quite poor. thanks for the fast response! you might have garned yourself a full time paying user if this is easy to do.

i am considering to utilize wufoo to have a nice feedback form link for tech support for an iphone application. figuring managing via wufoo is better then fielding a bunch of questions in my inbox. also, thanks to the forms, i can sort by type of problem. let's see if the 500 response limit holds. in a way, i don't want it to (if that means lots of app sales!), but let's see if it does.

cheers!

Feature Requests: google checkout integration and method of payment

I agree that it would be nice to have Google Checkout integrated seamlessly, but I'm afraid that the Google Checkout API does not support that type of integration.

We do plan on adding the ability to skip over payment like you're looking for, but that will come out after we've released our logic and branching feature, which we're actively developing now.

I'd love to see Google Checkout integrated the same way that Paypal is. A lot of my users aren't very tech-savvy and being taken away from the form confuses them.

We also typically have multiple items on one form with payment, so a final tally (like a shopping cart) before going to Checkout would be helpful. That way it would also be in their confirmation e-mail.

Related to all of that, a method of payment field would be great. We allow people to pay by check, so we don't want them taken to Google Checkout in that case. They submit the form and then mail a check later. I guess maybe a multi-page form with logic might solve that, if there's a way to skip over Google using logic.

Thanks!!!

Glad to hear you were able to get up and running quickly. You should be able to restrict which data is returned through our report API (http://wufoo.com/docs/api/report/). You'll want to create a custom report with Wufoo's report builder and just make sure the fields you don't want returned are not included in the report.

First of all, thanks for providing such thorough documentation on the API query. I just got it up and running on my site with no problems and its awesome. You guys rock.

My only question is whether it is possible to omit or hide certain fields from the results array (such as email addresses or telephone numbers). It would be great to be able to omit fields by API ID, allowing me to collect email addresses as the admin but not show them to everyone who views the form on my website. Any ideas on how to do this? (I tried making the fields in the form Admin visible only, but this didn't work.) Thanks!
